Whitman wins hard fought match against Damascus to improve to 10-0!

The Whitman Vikings won a big match over a very good Damascus squad 35-28.  The Vikings were paced by a solid opening win by Eric Beverly.  His win over Zeek Gammill was especially important because Eric had lost earlier in the season to Gammill.  That match was followed by a solid pin in the second period by Stephen Fisher.  Aaron Norris, who now leads the team with 20 wins, won the third straight match to begin the dual.  Those matches were followed by four straight losses.  Sophomore Taylor Leighton, lost in the closing seconds by the slim margin of 4-3.

Once the match started back down at 103 the Vikings rattled off 5 straight wins.  Dylan Symington won by pin in 42 seconds.  Freshman Andrew Follmann won 11-0.  Senior Joe Hancher wrestled very well and secured the fall at 4:41 in the third period.  Fellow Senior Nick Robison won by major decision 12-1.  Freshmen Michael Harder put the dual out of reach by winning 6-0 at 130 pounds.  All 14 guys wrestled hard and stayed focused on the match in a solid team effort.
