Dear Parents and Wrestlers,
I wanted to send a quick thank you to everyone for helping to make our 2008 summer camp a total success. I apologize for the lateness of this email but when I got home I had to leave for Salisbury University for the Whitman football camp. I am working on recruiting some of the football players on to the wrestling team and have had some great/encouraging conversations with several players.
We went to Kutztown with two goals in mind: 1) To learn and get in some great competitive wrestling and 2) Have fun! I know that both of those goals were accomplished.
We wrestled 14 dual meet matches in which many wrestlers at times wrested two matches in a single dual. We wrestled very tough teams throughout the entire week and everyone wrestled very well.
So thank you once again to all of the wrestlers for working so hard and thank you to all of the parents who volunteered to drive to and from camp. If it were not for you we could not have even gotten to camp.
Thank you so much once again to everyone.
One of our Senior leaders found this quote and passed it on to me. He and I thought it was very appropriate after a tough week, so I’ll leave you with this: “There’s no such thing as an unspectacular wrestling career. You had the guts to try, and guts is enough.” (Dave Schultz-Olympic Gold Medalist)
