Our first official team commitment for the 2012-2013 season will be the mandatory weight certifications at Blake H.S. on Saturday November 3rd. We will meet at Whitman at 10:15 am. Coach Manon will collect all 5 required tryout forms from the wrestlers before we will take a bus and travel as a team to Blake High School at about 10:45. We will only be there from 11:30 to no later than 12. We will be back at Whitman by about 12:30-12:45, depending on traffic.
All wrestlers will need the required weight certification permission slip in order to have their weight certified. This permission slip is specific to the weight certification procedures and is required in addition to the four tryout forms that are required for participation in all sports. The “tryouts” portion of our website also has a link to additional information explaining the weight certification procedures and providing tips on maintaining proper hydration.
Please wear comfortable clothes (sweats with athletic shorts underneath) and a T-shirt/sweatshirt. Athletic shorts and T-shirt must be worn for the weight certifications. In addition, wrestler’s should bring a photo ID (if you don’t have the ID it’s ok, but it makes it easier.) PLEASE remember to be well-hydrated for the weight certifications. If you are not hydrated the body fat test will not work properly and you will have to go to the weight certification makeup date, which is Monday, November 26.
