Whitman Vikings Remain Undefeated Beating the Sherwood Warriors 48-34

The Vikings of Walt Whitman visited the Warriors of Sherwood and remained unbeaten for the season winning the dual 48 – 34.  There were a number of wrestlers out for the Vikings so shuffling of certain wrestlers and others stepping into action was important for this win.  The action started at the 113 weight class.  Freshman Clark Boinis, wrestling up a weight class, lost by pin.  Next up was Chris Habibian also wrestling up a weight class, lost by major decision.  The Vikings were in a 10 – 0 hole early in the match.  Andrew Shiman scored the first Viking points of the day with a pin 1 minute into the first period.  The Vikings then forfeited at 132 and asked James Bamberger to wrestle up a weight class.  James did not disappoint pinning his opponent for another Viking win and setting off an impressive streak of pins by the Vikings.  Hamoon Shokoohinia hip tossed his opponent for a pin at 145 then Kevin Cullinane stepped in at 152 and handily pinned his opponent followed by Captains Mitch Fenton and Matthew McClanahan, both wrestling up a weight class and both also winning by pin.  In between Fenton and McClanahan, Senior Conner Barrett stepped on the mat to receive a forfeit at 182.  With the score a comfortable 48 – 16, the Vikings lost their next three matches, two by forfeit and one by pin.
